Okay. So, wait a minute. Let me be a nerd for a second here. The first season of The Legend Of Korra was originally scripted and intended to be the entire show. Therefore, the writers intended for the conclusion of Asami’s story arc to be: Her boyfriend leaves her, and then her own father tries to kill her in a heart-wrenching act of betrayal.

Alright.

I have no problem with tragedy, but here’s the thing: when Korra, in the season finale, loses her bending and she cries like a bitch, flees from her friends and sits on a cliff pouting about the unfairness of the world. Asami, meanwhile, is standing strong by her friends even after the two most important men in her life, her father and her boyfriend, have abandoned her. Not only is she strong enough to still be walking and talking with dignity after her father tried to kill her, but she is still friends with both the guy that dumped her and the girl she got dumped for.

Asami is a way better role model than Korra. Which would be fine, if Korra weren’t the fucking Avatar.

I like Korra but it hurts

Bolin and Asami are so underated.

I mean. The best characters just get so shoved off for vapid shallow characters like Mako and Korra

Definitely agreed with OP, and definitely agreed with Suzi.

Bolin and Asami are 2 of my favorites (along with Tenzin and Lin) and they are much better and upstanding characters/role models than either Mako or Korra, despite their limited screen time
